 The City of Waukesha was recently notified that they would not be receiving a $500,000 federal grant to staff a the new fire station being built by Meadowbrook Road. There is already work being done near Oliver Field. The 2008 budget contains some money for the staffing but not the total amount necessary. Not one city council member nor the mayor should pretend to be suprised nor should they whine about making budget cuts to make ends meet. Even the 2008 budget transmittal summary defined the problem. Ignorance isn't bliss in this case, it is incompetence.
