City of Waukesha #1 Again! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 28 January 2008
1stplace... in property taxes for Waukesha County.  Out of 111 taxing districts, the City of Waukesha residents will pay the most.  A City of Waukesha home with a fair market value of $281,600 will pay $4,985.96 in property taxes.  That's over $300 more than the 2nd most tax burdened municipality in the County.

In the past, the highest taxed community in Waukesha County was still lower than the lowest taxed in Milwaukee County.  However, this changed this year because of the high rate of growth in the City of Waukesha tax levy.  Almost mockingly, Mayor Nelson chose to boast on this years property tax letter stating that Waukesha would only have been the 29th out of 30 Milwaukee municipalities.  Just imagine how high Waukesha would be if it also had the out-of-control MATC board, a problem-ridden MMSD, and a county government trying to recover from a pension scandal.
