The newest edition of "the Myth of the 3.8% QEO" is now released. Once again, the study shows that the average salary increase per teacher exceeds 5%. This does not represent increases in health insurance, retirement contributions or any other benefit. Included in this study are private and public sector insurance comparisons and a breakdown of the $195 Million unfunded liability that the district has and just what the board can do about it.
Highlights from the Report:
- The average total compensation package for teachers was $82,720.
- Over 37% of teachers are maxed out at an annual base salary of $70,507 (not including benefits).
- A family plan health insurance package costs the taxpayers $21,147.36.
- The average increase between the 2005/06 and 2006/07 school years was 5.14%.
- $195 million in unfunded liabilities.
